About Me

My name is Coralie (she/her)

If you are wondering how to say my name, someone once said "it's like when you see some coral and you say oh that's very corally"!

My professional journey began following a career path in Law as I wanted to help people.  However, after ten years in the legal profession I decided to take a new path and to retrain in counselling.  My goal was, and still is, to help people on a more human level through my compassion and empathy.  I enjoy working with people with all sorts of issues and from many walks of life.  This includes people who had difficult childhoods, those who have experienced traumatic events and those who find the coping strategies they learned as children are now holding them back.  I explain more about my approach to working with clients on the "About Counselling" page.

I am a member of the BACP having completed an accredited PG Dip in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.  Please see the "Qualifications & Experience" page for more information.  In 2024 I have achieved accredited status with the BACP having gone through a rigorous process of further assessment and reflection on my practice, evidencing my work and theoretical understanding.

As of 2025, I am also qualified to provide Clinical Supervision.

I am neurodivergent member of the LGBTQ+ community and I think this gives me a greater insight into how being a member of marginalised communities can impact a person.

In my personal life enjoy many creative pursuits including baking, interior design, and many types of music.  You can often find me walking my dog and taking photographs of nature.  I find nature can be hugely restorative and is an enduring constant in our busy world.  I am also in the beginning stages of training as a dog trainer, putting my problem solving abilities and interest in psychology to use in the relationships between guardians and their dogs.
